Dr. Rubul Maut

Dr. Rubul Mout is a Washington Research Foundation (WRF) innovation fellow at the University of Washington, USA. His current research involves creating new proteins for the treatment of human diseases, that are not built in the nature during the evolution. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, USA, where he worked on developing gene editing technologies for curing various human genetic diseases. His research has been featured in numerous scientific media including American Chemical Society (ACS) feature video, LabTV studio documentary etc.

Born in a poor farmer’s family near Assam-Arunachal border in the district of Tinsukia, Assam, India, Dr. Mout had struggled in his childhood to get education and keep up his dreams. The story of his life-struggle is the subject of his memoir book ‘Moro eta sapon ase’.

He is also the author of the book (short stories) ‘Dhuxorotat Xonghoto Shrawan’.
